Dennis Schroder suffered a toe injury during the second quarter of Monday's win over the Milwaukee Bucks and will not travel with the team to Detroit on Tuesday.

For the Atlanta Hawks at this point, staying healthy is the only priority. Atlanta couldn't escape Monday's win over the Milwaukee Bucks without being bitten by the injury bug again as Dennis Schroder went down with a toe injury with just over nine minutes to go in the second quarter.

Schroder was helped off the floor and eventually to the locker room area. Following the game, the team announced that Schroder would not travel with the team to Detroit for Tuesday's game and would be re-evaluated by Peachtree Orthopedics.

Schroder has been one of the most pleasant surprises of the season for the Hawks. The second-year guard is averaging 9.8 points and 4.2 assists while shooting 42 percent from the field. Schroder has picked his play up considerably during the second half of the season. In 20 games since the All-Star break he is averaging 13.2 points and 6.0 assists.

Perhaps the most impressive improvement Schroder has made is with his three-point shooting. He shot just 29 percent from three-point range over the first 52 games but is shooting 42 percent since the break. That has really put the pressure on defenders who continually countered his quickness by ducking under screens in an effort to cut off his drives to the basket. Now he is making them pay with his shooting and is forcing opponents into making tough decisions with how to guard him.

Hopefully, Schroder's injury isn't very serious and he will be back soon. Forward Mike Scott was on the court doing some shooting prior to Monday's game and could return from a sprained toe soon. Jeff Teague sat out two games with an ankle injury but returned to the court on Monday night logging 29 minutes.

But, Schröder though.

The Hawks rolled out all the starters to take on the visiting Milwaukee Bucks Monday night and handled their business, taking down their guests, 101-88, and despite a terrific effort from Peachtree Hoops favorite Zaza Pachulia.

DeMarre Carroll continued his one man onslaught, knocking down 9-13 shots, grabbing eight boards and scoring 23 points to lead all scorers. The Hawks took down every quarter from the Bucks and led by as many as 16, thanks to a Korver-run of four buckets in about a minute, to get their 56th win of the season

All the Hawks starters were back and played between 29 minutes (Jeff Teague) and 34:40 minutes (Paul Millsap) and seemed prepared to do better than the last time the Bucks were in town and embarrassed the Hawks.

The bad news was that Dennis Schröder injured his toe in the first half and did not return to the game. We'll know more tomorrow about his status so be sure to check out the Peachtree Hoops feed on Twitter for the latest there.Shelvin Mack did the backup point guard duties and considering the Hawks intend to give their starters the day off Tuesday, you may be seeing some John Jenkins, Point Guard or some Point Bazemore.

Thabo Sefolosha showed well as he continues to ease his way back into the Hawks rotation. Thabo went 4-6, making his only three pointer and both free throws to end with 11 points in 13 minutes, also securing four rebounds and snaring a steal as well.

Pachulia, who is still loved by many Hawks fans, returned to Atlanta and went 8-10 with 17 points and 13 rebounds, but it wasn't near enough to keep the Hawks from continuing their 2014-15 excellence.

The Atlanta Hawks continue a four games, in five nights stretch on Monday with a matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks at Philips Arena.

The Atlanta Hawks return home to Philips Arena on Monday for a match up against a MIlwaukee Bucks team that is struggling down the stretch.

For the Hawks these days, their biggest concern is figuring out who to play and who to rest with the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference already in hand. Mike Budenholzer elected to rest his entire starting five on Saturday and with the Hawks in a four games in five nights stretch, there is a possibility that trend continues again on Monday.

Kent Bazemore scored 20 points to lead the Hawks in a 115-100 loss to the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday. Mike Muscala got the start in place of Paul Millsap and recorded his first career double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

After a surprising start to the season, the Bucks have slipped to below .500 and are trying to hang on to the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference. Milwaukee has lost seven of its last 10 and lead the Miami Heat by two games in the standings.

The Bucks are coming off of an impressive 108-95 win over the Golden State Warriors on Saturday. Khris Middleton led the way with 14 points while Jared Dudley added 13 off the bench. Dudley scored 24 points in his last trip to Philips Arena going a perfect 10-10 from the field.

Atlanta has taken two of the three meetings between the two clubs and interestingly enough, the road team has won each contest. The Bucks handed the Hawks a 107-77 beat down at Philips Arena on the day after Christmas. Atlanta came back to take the next two match ups in Milwaukee.

Jeff Teague has missed the last two games with an ankle injury and while there has been no official update to his status, he seems doubtful to play on Monday. Mike Scott remains out with a toe injury but the rest of Atlanta's lineup likely won't be determined until closer to tip off.
