Tiffany Hayes finished with 17 points but the Atlanta Dream lost for the third time in their last four games with an 85-76 loss to the Connecticut Sun.

The Atlanta Dream's struggles in Connecticut continued on Sunday as they suffered a disappointing 85-76 loss to the Sun.

Connecticut jumped out to a 24-18 advantage after one and extended the lead to 11 at the half. Atlanta never could find a rhythm offensively and finished the game shooting just 36 percent to go along with 18 more turnovers. During the early part of the season, the Dream are among the worst teams in the WNBA at taking care of the basketball. The Sun led by as many as 21 points in the second half before cruising home late.

Tiffany Hayes led the way for Atlanta with 17 points. Erika de Souza added 15 points and eight rebounds but was saddled with six turnovers. Shoni Schimmel added 11 points while Sancho Lyttle chipped in 10. Angel McCoughtry struggled all afternoon and finished with just seven points on 2-14 shooting.

The Sun were led by Chiney Ogwumike who finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Renee Montgomery also finished with 18 off the bench. Connecticut shot 46 percent from the field for the game and were solid at the free throw line where they converted 23-28 attempts.

The win was just the second of the season for the Sun and the loss drops Atlanta to 3-3 on the season. Atlanta will look to bounce back once again on Tuesday when they host the Los Angeles Sparks at Philips Arena.

The Atlanta Dream look for their second straight win as they travel to Connecticut to take on the Sun and No. 1 pick Chiney Ogwumike.

The Atlanta Dream look for their second straight win on Sunday when they head out on the road to take on the Connecticut Sun. The Dream snapped a two-game skid with an 80-69 win over the Seattle Storm Friday night at Philips Arena. Connecticut has lost two straight including a 101-82 defeat on Friday.

Atlanta bounced back against the Storm thanks to a strong second half and a solid performance from Tiffany Hayes who finished with 20 points on 6-9 shooting. Hayes has been and out of the lineup through the first five games but found a rhythm and delivered on Friday for head coach Michael Cooper.

The Dream haven't faired well recently at Mohegan Sun Arena losing six of their last seven regular season match ups there. Connecticut's lone win on the season came at home.

One bright spot for the Sun this season is the emergence of No. 1 overall pick Chiney Ogwumike who is averaging 17.2 points and 9.2 rebounds while shooting 49 percent from the field over the first six games. Her teammates have had trouble scoring however, as the Sun are dead last in the WNBA in field goal percentage at 39 percent.

Atlanta wants to get out and run but Cooper's club must do a better job at taking care of the basketball. The Dream are 11th out of 12 teams with 94 turnovers on the season. They played a huge part in both of Atlanta's losses.
