The Atlanta Hawks spurned a late 15 point lead as Andre Iguodala knocked down a game-winning three at the buzzer. Mike Budenholzer and Pero Antic talked about the game's final play following the game.

The Atlanta Hawks suffered a devastating loss on Friday night falling at the buzzer to an Andre Iguodala three-pointer that gave the Golden State Warriors a 101-100 win. Atlanta led by 15 points in the fourth quarter before poor execution and some hot shooting from the Warriors led to the comeback.

The biggest play of the game might have been Stephen Curry's bucket with 29 seconds remaining that pulled the Warriors to within 100-98. That he scored that quickly gave the Warriors a two for one opportunity in the final moments. Atlanta ran down as much time as they could with their final possession but weren't able to get a good shot setting up one final chance for the Warriors.

The Warriors inbounded the ball to Curry who was immediately doubled by Pero Antic. Seeing the double coming, Curry whipped a pass to Andre Iguodala who knocked down the game-winner at the buzzer.

Following the game, Mike Budenholzer talked about the final possession and whether or not doubling Curry was the plan.

"We wanted to stay connected with everybody. We thought they would go to one of their shooters. We defended the initial action pretty well. Steph Curry demands a lot of attention. We got the ball out of his hands and then they made a tough shots. It's a credit to Iguodala, a credit to Curry to make the pass. Two good players made a good play."

So the plan coming out of the timeout was not to double Curry and it was a decision that Antic regretted following the game.

"In the end I make some mistakes, and we lost the game and I feel bad," Antic said.

The Hawks have played in a league-high 10 games that have been decided by two points or less and are 5-5 in those contests.

That last defensive miscue somewhat puts a damper on Antic's best night as an NBA player. In his first start, Antic scored a team-best 16 points while going 4-6 from three-point range. Coach Bud's plan to start Antic in an effort to pull Warriors center Andrew Bogut away from the basket worked as Antic made the Warriors pay from deep and forced them to make adjustments late in the game.

The Hawks built a 15 point lead due to their bench and their ball movement. That Atlanta was in position to win with Paul Millsap and Kyle Korver combining for 17 points on 5-21 shooting speaks volumes about their defensive effort.

DeMarre Carroll returned from a two game absence due to a sprained thumb and finished with 12 points, seven rebounds, four steals and zero turnovers. Best of all he showed no ill-effects from the injury while hitting 5-8 shots.

Shelvin Mack continues to be the feel good story of the season and is quickly becoming very important to this team due to his defense. He led the Hawks off the bench with 15 points, four assists and three steals while going 6-8 from the field. Mack played 26 minutes and was in the game down the stretch.

MIke Scott also turned in a productive game off the bench finishing with 12 points and three rebounds in just over 18 minutes.

Kyle Korver extended his consecutive games streak with a made three to 102 but was just 2-7 in the game and 1-5 from the field. Korver is 2-11 from three-point range in his last two games.

The Atlanta Hawks suffer a heartbreaking loss to the Golden State Warriors thanks to a three-pointer by Andre Iguodala at the buzzer.

Some losses just hurt more than others. The Atlanta Hawks know the truth in that statement all too well after Friday's 101-100 loss to the Golden State Warriors. The Hawks let a 15 point lead slip away in the fourth quarter but rallied to take the lead back before Andre Iguodala broke their heart's with a game-winning three as time expired.

Pero Antic put Atlanta up 91-76 with 6:48 remaining. The Warriors responded with a 20-4 run capped off by a breakaway layup by Stephen Curry to put Golden State up 96-95. The Hawks weren't done however as Atlanta scored the next five points to take a 100-96 lead. Curry brought the Warriors to within two at 100-98 with just over 29 seconds remaining. Atlanta then wound the clock down but the execution wasn't there forcing Paul Millsap to miss a tough turnaround. Golden State rebounded with 3.9 on the clock and one final chance.

The Warriors inbounded the ball to Curry who was immediately doubled by Antic and Jeff Teague. Curry got a pass off to Iguodala who rose up and knocked down a wide open three from the wing to give Golden State the victory.

Antic led the Hawks with 16 points and seven rebounds in his first start of the season. Shelvin Mack chipped in 15 points and four assists while Teague finished with 14 points and seven assists but was also credited with five turnovers. Mike Scott, Paul Millsap and DeMarre Carroll all finished with 12 points each.

Atlanta overcame 20 turnovers thanks to ten more makes from three-point range. The Hawks went 10-31 from deep and were 16-19 from the free throw line.

David Lee led the Warriors with 23 points and eight rebounds. Curry had a big fourth quarter and finished with 22 points, nine assists, eight rebounds despite nine turnovers. Klay Thompson finished with 21 points, five rebounds and six assists. Iguodala scored all seven of his points in the fourth but none were bigger than his three at the buzzer.

The loss snaps Atlanta's five game home winning streak and drops them to 18-15 on the season. They will look to bounce back on Saturday when they hit the road to take on the Chicago Bulls.

Pero Antic will get his first start for the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night when the Atlanta Hawks take on the Golden State Warriors.

Mike Budenholzer and the Atlanta Hawks are still searching for the right combinations in wake of Al Horford's season ending injury. Pero Antic will get his first start of the season on Friday against the Golden State Warriors as the Hawks go with a different look per a report from the AJC's Chris Vivlamore.

"I think we are still trying to find our groups," Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer said. "What bench guys work well together and what starters work well together. We like pulling (Andrew) Bogut away from the basket but if we were playing (any other team) we might start Pero tonight."

Elton Brand has started each game at center following Horford's injury but will come off of the bench tonight along with Gustavo Ayon. Brand is averaging just over four points a game as a starter and only saw 12 minutes of action against the Celtics.

Antic finished with five points and five rebounds in just over 20 minutes against Boston on Tuesday. He is averaging 3.7 points in 12 minutes per game this season but has seen increased opportunities since Horford went down.

Atlanta's center rotation going forward figures to be much more situational and matchup based that what we saw earlier in the season.

The Atlanta Hawks look to extend their current home winning streak to six games but face a tough task in Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors.

The Atlanta Hawks look to continue their good run at home but will face a stiff challenge from the Golden State Warriors.

The Hawks come into the game rested after two straight off days. That time off allowed them some much needed rest and practice time to regroup from the season ending injury to Al Horford. Atlanta is 18-14 on the season and came from behind to defeat the Boston Celtics 92-91 on Tuesday. The Hawks have won five straight at Philips Arena.

Paul Millsap has carried the load in wake of Horford's injury. He is averaging over 27 points and 11 rebounds in the three games since Horford went down and will get plenty of looks Friday night.

After some early season struggles the Warriors have come alive. Golden State has won seven straight overall and four straight on the road. They knocked off the Miami Heat 123-114 on Wednesday night behind 36 points and 12 assists from Stephen Curry. David Lee had an equally big game with 32 points and 14 rebounds as Miami lost for just the second time in their last 10 games. With the likes of Curry and Klay Thompson, Atlanta's perimeter defense figures to get a stiff test in Friday's game.

Atlanta's injury situation is improving. DeMarre Carroll is expected to return from a two game absence due to a sprained thumb. John Jenkins remains out indefinitely due to a back injury.
