Gustavo Ayon suffered an ankle injury and a leg contusion in the final moments of Friday's win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

It wasn't all good news for the Atlanta Hawks in Friday's win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. In the final moments of the game, Hawks' center Gustavo Ayon suffered an injury during a collision under the Cavaliers' basket. Ayon limped off the court and the AJC's Chris Vivlamore reports that he suffered a left ankle sprain and a leg contusion.

Ayon saw his first action in several games for the Hawks on Friday playing over 20 minutes while finishing with six points, seven rebounds and three assists. Mike Budenholzer went with a bigger rotation against Cleveland's big front line and Elton Brand saw a bit of playing time at the power forward position which opened up time for Ayon at center.

The severity of Ayon's injury isn't known. The Hawks will enjoy three days off before hosting the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday.

Kyle Korver talked with SportSouth's Andre Aldridge following Friday's game and again credited his teammates for his record three-point streak.

Kyle Korver's admitted to being nervous about his streak over the last two games but finally has the NBA record for consecutive games with a made three-pointer all to himself. Korver's first quarter three on Friday night against the Cleveland Cavaliers extended his streak to 90 straight games passing Dana Barros.

It's interesting that Korver admitted to being nervous. If you have had the opportunity to get out to the arena early and observe Korver's warm up routine, it's calculated and robotic. It never varies so it's a little refreshing to know that he was slightly affected by the attention.

Korver predictably credited his teammates for the streak that began in his second regular season game in a Hawks uniform. If you remember back to the 2012 season, Korver went 0-2 from deep in the season opening loss to the Houston Rockets and then was 1-5 in a road win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Kyle Korver's 90th consecutive game with a three-pointer came Wednesday night against the Cavaliers, a new NBA record.

The Atlanta Hawks held Kyrie Irving scoreless as they trounced the Cleveland Cavaliers 89-108 on Friday night at Philips Arena.

Al Horford had 22 points and 9 rebound and Paul Millsap put up 16 and 14, but it was Kyle Korver who stole the show in Philips Arena. Korver's first quarter three-pointer made it 90 straight games that the he's connected from beyond the arc, a new NBA record, one held by Dana Barros before Korver's streak.

Korver's record-breaking shot was the talk of the night in Atlanta, drawing shout outs from LeBron James on Facebook and praise from several other players around the league through social media.

Editor's Bullet Points Time!

Just when you thought it was a safe, Daniel Christian recap, comes.....EDITOR BULLET POINTS (now with bullet like substances)!

Let's do it (Cue Tone Loc)

KAAHHHHLLLLLLLL KORV3R!

Amazing. We posted the photographic evidence on the non-jinxing (whew) story stream and it was glorious.

We also note there that the Hawks used the Cavs initial attention to Kyle's record to get some pretty easy baskets early on and establishing a lead they would never be in serious danger of relinquishing.

Say, you know, that Millsap guy is pretty good.

Millsap is aggressive and flexible around the basket in a way we wish Al Horford could be. Millsap has so many moves, and my favorite was a spin move to the hoop where he then dipped under the basket and laid it in off the glass on the other side. Skillz.

16 points, 14 rebounds (SEVEN! offensive), 5 assists, and picked up a gallon of skim and a gallon of 2% milk on the way home for the neighbors.

Everybody participates!

The Hawks had seven folks in doubles against the Cavs and four players register four or more assists. That's what the kids call, nice.

The Hawks had 31 assists as a team against 13 turnovers -- that's what Peachtree Hoops accountants call a "good ratio".

Hey, Andrew Bynum!

Dude could not stay off the offensive glass, grabbing nine of those bad boys and sticking most of them back for a part of his 20 points. His size and length really caused the Hawks problems.

Kyrie Irving, scoreless.

I am sure that someone, years from now, will go back to this box score and say, Irving hasn't been scoreless since December 7th, 2013 when the Hawks shut him down in Atlanta.

I've watched Kyrie, and I kept expecting a burst of something except doughnuts because he's too good not to scratch. Alas, 20 minutes, 0-9 shooting, zero points. Yes, four assists, four rebounds, but guhhhh...that's a zero on top of another zero. Bad times for Kyrie.

Dion Waiters, tho.

13-20 and I was shocked to see he missed seven shots. Waiters, as Nique said on the air, found a groove and he rode that sucker for the majority of his nearly 35 minutes on the floor. Season high 30 points for Dion -- geez.

Al Horford's stats say he was boss.

Caught up in Millsap and Kyle that, while I noticed Al making jump shots and getting easy hoops running the floor, I didn't expect to see that Al tallied 19 shots(!) and put up the solid stat line of 22 points, nine rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks.

And...I pretty much love all things DeMarre Carroll.

That is all.

Exit Question: What are your thoughts on Korver's record breaking streak? How much further do you think he can take it?

The Atlanta Hawks have recalled Jared Cunningham from the NBA D-League and are sending John Jenkins to Bakersfield to take his place.

The Atlanta Hawks are shuffling their roster on Friday as they have recalled Jared Cunningham from the D-League and assigned John Jenkins to Bakersfield. The Hawks sent Dennis Schroder to the D-League on Wednesday.

Cunningham has been with Bakersfield since the beginning of the season and was averaging 15 points and 4.6 assists despite a low shooting percentage. He had been seeing some time at point guard and was still displaying a good knack of getting to the free throw line where he is converting at a high rate.

Jenkins has struggled to find his footing since battling a back injury during the offseason that lingered into the preseason. He has played sparingly and hasn't played very well when given opportunities. Jenkins spent two games in Bakersfield last season and averaged 25 points a game.

<strike>That Hawks have yet to announce the move but it is being reported by the AJC.</strike> Update: The Hawks have confirmed the move via press release.

The Atlanta Hawks look for their second straight win at home Friday night against the Cleveland Cavaliers while Kyle Korver goes for a league record.

The Atlanta Hawks look to make it two in a row at home Friday night when they host the Cleveland Cavaliers. Kyle Korver looks to pass Dana Barros league record with a three-pointer in what would be his 90th consecutive game.

Atlanta soundly defeated the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday and have built a bit of momentum since their close loss in San Antonio. They will look to keep that going on Friday against the Cavaliers. The Hawks have topped 100 points in each of their last three games after failing to reach that mark in seven straight.

Cleveland comes in on a bit of a roll itself after a slow start to the season. The Cavaliers have won two straight knocking off Chicago and Denver at home. Their win over the Nuggets snapped Denver's seven-game winning streak. Cleveland is 6-12 on the season and just 1-9 on the road so Atlanta will want to get off to a quick start on Friday night.

The game features yet another intriguing matchup at the point guard position with Atlanta's Jeff Teague and Cleveland's Kyrie Irving. Teague was held in check for the most part against the Clippers finishing with six points and six assists in over 28 minutes. Teague is averaging a career-best 16.8 points and 8.0 assists and is the engine that drives the Atlanta offense.

Irving is off to a solid start although his shooting percentage has tumbled so far this season. He is averaging 20.8 points and 5.8 assists but is shooting a career-worst 40 percent from the field. Irving has performed well against the Hawks in his career averaging over 25 points and six assists in his career.

Cleveland's size could also be a concern with the likes of Anderson Varejao and Andrew Bynum healthy and playing. Atlanta's combo of Al Horford and Paul Millsap were awesome against the Clippers and the Hawks will need another good effort against the Cavaliers on Friday night.
