Al Horford scored a career-high 34 points while Josh Smith nearly put up a triple double as the Atlanta Hawks extended their winning streak with a 102-91 win over the Utah Jazz.

The Atlanta Hawks improve to 3-0 on their current six-game road trip with a 102-91 win over the Utah Jazz. Atlanta got big games from their big three of Al Horford, Josh Smith and Jeff Teague to pull off another road win and extend their winning streak in the process.

Atlanta jumped out to an early 30-25 lead and extended that to 56-48 at the half. If Larry Drew was worried about how the Hawks might respond to the high altitude of Salt Lake City then he had to be happy to see the Hawks grab the early lead. Atlanta poured it on in the third scoring the first six points of the quarter and extending the lead to 14. The Hawks would continue to push and the lead would grow to as many as 20 points in the third. By the time the Jazz made a run in the fourth it was all but too late.

Al Horford scored 16 of his career-best 34 points in the fourth quarter and single handedly kept the Jazz at bay. Horford continued his string of strong performances by hitting 14-22 shots and all six of his free throw attempts. He pulled down 15 rebounds and also blocked five shots at the defensive end of the floor.

Horford owned the fourth but he had plenty of help in building the lead. Josh Smith did a lot of everything finishing with 24 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists. Jeff Teague added 19 points and seven assists of his own to continue his string of excellent play. Devin Harris got the start on Wednesday and finished with 12 points. Both Teague and Harris played a huge part in Atlanta's 20-7 advantage in fast break points.

Al Jefferson led the Jazz with 26 points and 11 rebounds while Derrick Favors started for the injured Paul Millsap and finished with 17 points and 15 rebounds. Randy Foye and Gordon Hayward finished with 11 points each while former Hawks forward Marvin Williams scored eight in his first game against his former club.

Utah out rebounded Atlanta 47-38 but the Hawks scored 54 points in the paint and went 21-26 from the free throw line which helped offset an unusually cold night of shooting from three-point range where they finished just 5-18.

The win improves the Hawks to 33-23 on the season and extends their road winning streak to a season-best five games. Atlanta has three games left on its current trip with stops in Phoenix, L.A. and Denver remaining. Atlanta will enjoy an off day on Thursday before taking on the Suns Friday night.

Hawks player to watch: While Al Horford has been amazing of late, Jeff Teague has been playing at a very high level and figures to be a problem for the Jazz Wednesday night. Teague has scored at least 20 points and handed out nine assists in each of his past three games. During the month of February, Teague is averaging 18.2 points and 9.5 assists and is giving the Atlanta offense a jumpstart each and every night.

Jazz player to watch: According to Jazz radio voice David Locke, Al Jefferson is averaging 20 points while shooting 52 percent in Utah wins. Jefferson is at 16 points a game on 45 percent shooting in losses. Doing a nice job defensively and making him work hard for what he gets will be a priority for Atlanta.

Utah's Paul Millsap missed this morning's shootaround and is listed as a game-time decision for tonight's game against the Atlanta Hawks.

The Utah Jazz could be without a key part of its frontcourt Wednesday night after Paul Millsap declared himself a game-time decision with an ankle injury. Millsap sat out Tuesday's practice and did not participate in shootaround this morning. He indicated that he would see how it felt prior to the game before deciding whether or not he would play.

"It's going to be a game-time decision," he said. "I'll see if I can get out there and move around, but if not I don't want to be out there and hurt the team."

Millsap has played in all 57 games for the Jazz this season and is averaging 15.1 points and 7.3 rebounds. If he is unable to go then Atlanta native and former Georgia Tech standout Derrick Favors will be the likely starter at power forward for the Jazz.

Larry Drew hasn't announced a starting lineup for tonight's game and whether or not Millsap is able to play could effect that decision.

Pachulia sat out Monday's win in Detroit with a sore Achilles that has plagued him since before the All-Star break.
