Dahntay Jones and Jeremy Tyler both passed their physicals and joined the team before Friday's win over Sacramento.

Dahntay Jones and Jeremy Tyler both passed their physicals on Friday and are now officially members of the Atlanta Hawks. Both players made it to Atlanta prior to tip off of Friday's win over the Sacramento Kings. Jones was active and played the final 2:27 of the game while Tyler was inactive but it could be a few more days before either see any action in key spots according to head coach Larry Drew.

"Ideally you want to get guys familiar with what we are doing," Hawks coach Larry Drew said. "It would be very difficult for them to step in at this point not having been on the floor and gone through the things we do."

While it remains to be seen what either player's role will be Jones could slide into some playing time particularly when DeShawn Stevenson is unable to go in the second game of back-to-backs.

Jones is thought of as a good defender and the Hawks have struggled at times to matchup from the perimeter. We should see both players at some point on the trip with Jones having the best chance at making an impact at some point.

Six different Hawks' players scored in double figures led by Al Horford's 24 as Atlanta pulls away from Sacramento late for a 122-108 win.

The Atlanta Hawks started slow but came on strong late to defeat the Sacramento Kings for the 10th consecutive time 122-108. After falling behind by as many as 13 points in the first quarter, the Hawks outscored the Kings 61-45 in the second half.

Atlanta struggled out of the gate thanks to a rather lackluster defensive effort and the sterling play of Sacramento point guard Isaiah Thomas who scored 19 of his game-high 30 points in the first half. Atlanta trailed 33-25 after one but the Hawks trimmed the lead to just two at the break trailing 63-61.

The second half began much the same way the first ended with the lead bouncing back and forth between the two teams. Jeff Teague's three pointer with 2:09 remaining in the third put the Hawks up for good as they continued to pull away in the fourth.

Six different Hawks scored in double figures led by Al Horford's 24 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Jeff Teague added 20 points, 12 assists and three steals while Josh Smith finished with 18 points and six rebounds. DeShawn Stevenson hit 5-6 attempts from three-point range and finished with 17. Devin Harris and Kyle Korver each pitched in 10 points off the bench.

Thomas hit 9-18 shots for his 30 points and threw in nine assists for good measure. DeMarcus Cousins was a beast inside finishing with 26 points and 13 rebounds. Tyreke Evans rounds out Sacramento scorers in double figures with 15.

After shooting a blistering 57 percent in the first half, the Kings cooled off to 43 percent for the game. They did finish 12-22 from deep which helped to keep the score close. Atlanta did a good job pushing the pace outscoring Sacramento 33-19 in fast break points. The biggest stat however was how the Hawks took care of the ball turning the ball over just six times in the game. Sacramento on the other hand finished with 16 turnovers which led to 24 points for Atlanta.

Up next for the Hawks is a six-game road trip that begins on Saturday in Milwaukee and will take them all the way to the west coast before they come back home.

Atlanta will start the game with the same big lineup as they did Wednesday night against Miami. Atlanta is also still without a true third point guard, but Drew says he's comfortable with Jenkins in that spot.

The Hawks will start the same big lineup they did against Miami on Wednesday with Jeff Teague, DeShawn Stevenson, Josh Smith, Al Horford, and Zaza Pachulia. Atlanta is still waiting on clearance for Dahntay Jones and Jeremy Tyler, acquired yesterday at the trade deadline, as their physicals are processed. Even if they are cleared, Larry Drew said it is "highly unlikely" that they would play today or tomorrow in Milwaukee. Atlanta's main rotation remains the same despite all of the trade rumors that swirled around for the past month, which means Josh Smith is still here, but also that there are only two point guards.

Drew said he will alternate minutes for Jeff and Devin, having one on the floor at all times. With Devin's nagging foot injury, I pressed Drew about his comfort level with John Jenkins running the point should Devin need a game off.

"I'm very comfortable. We actually have prepared, in the event that we need a third point guard, a package just for John. Things that he can run at the point guard position and to be honest John looks very comfortable there. When we first started experimenting with this thing I was a little skeptical about it, but as we've moved on, he's looked like he's gotten more and more comfortable with it playing up top with the basketball. Again, we have a package that we've put together solely for him if he's in that situation of things he can get us into pretty quickly and we can get in our flow."

The Atlanta Hawks have the trade deadline behind them and look to get back on track Friday night when they take on the Sacramento Kings.

The Atlanta Hawks look for a 10th straight win over the Sacramento Kings when the two teams tangle Friday night at Philips Arena. The Hawks made a pair of trades at Thursday's deadline but it wasn't the one that most were expecting. Danny Ferry passed on moving free agent to be Josh Smith and he will be in a Hawks uniform at least through the remainder of the season.

The Hawks did make a couple of deals sending Anthony Morrow to Dallas in exchange for Dahntay Jones and salary relief and also acquired Jeremy Tyler from the Golden State Warriors for a second round pick. Its unknown whether either player will be in Atlanta for Friday's game against the Kings.

Sacramento was also busy at the deadline acquiring Patrick Patterson, Toney Douglas and Cole Aldrich from the Houston Rockets in exchange for the No. 5 pick in the 2012 Draft Thomas Robinson and spare parts. The Kings are 19-36 on the season and have lost three straight. Sacramento has won just five times away from home this season.

The Hawks returned from the All-Star break on Wednesday with a 103-90 loss to the Miami Heat. Friday's game is the last before Atlanta opens a six game road trip that will take them to the west coast. The Hawks won the previous meeting between the two clubs 112-96 back in November.
