After two days of deliberation and more than THREE HUNDRED votes, more than we have ever gotten, Hawks fans have answered our question. The Hawks have spent a long time in their same old navy and red garb. In fact, it's been since 2007 that the Hawks have been away from the old red and yellow color scheme. Although the yellow appears to have been replaced by lime green, a color Atlanta has used in the past, the red will play a large role in the color scheme like it used to. The Hawks seem to be going for something more modern and bold. Regardless, everyone is very interested in the new jerseys. Recently Kent Bazemore joined a Bleacher Report radio show for a short and exclusive interview where he talked about what he hopes will happen for the Atlanta Hawks next season. Click the link and listen to see what Baze had to say.
Danny Ferry has officially been bought out by the Atlanta Hawks in the wake of a controversial racist scandal dating back to last summer. With a new ownership group taking over, many say that they had no choice but to let Ferry go. However, many fans say he should have stayed due to his undoubtedly great work, most notably the trade of Joe Johnson to rid the Hawks of his ridiculously high salary. So we come to you fans to get a verdict. Should the Hawks have kept Danny Ferry? Let us know your opinion by voting in our poll!
As we all know, Al Horford became more than just the Hawks' best player this season, but a hero as well. His incredible play in the second round against Washington likely saved the Hawks from another early elimination. With time winding down and the Wizards ahead because of none other than Paul Pierce's clutch shooting, Al Horford swooped in and grabbed an offensive rebound off a block by John Wall. The rest is history, and this picture by Redditor blessedmitch shows just how epic that moment was.
Some people say the Hawks lack rim protection. However, the likes of Paul Millsap and Al Horford beg to differ. Check out this video for the best rejections of the season for your Atlanta Hawks.
With the clock winding down, in one of the more bizarre finishes we've seen this WNBA season (the officials counted a late basket that didn't go in), Angel McCoughtry came through again. This time the Dream were down by one point to the rival Sky. McCoughtry gets the ball in her hands, as it should be, and knocks down the long two with ice in her veins.
In a close call with Arkansas F Bobby Portis, Hawks fans have decided that the organization should take Wisconsin G Sam Dekker with the 15th pick in the 2015 draft.
As we recently learned, the Hawks will let go of Danny Ferry and promote Mike Budenholzer and Wes Wilcox. On Friday morning the Hawks made things official for themselves, reaching a buyout of the former GM Ferry's contract. The Hawks have yet to make an official announcement, but expect one in the next few days.
The Hawks will reportedly bring former Penn State point guard D.J. Newbill to a group workout on Friday. He is considered to be a second-round/undrafted prospect after averaging 20.7 points per game as a senior with the Nittany Lions.
