Saturday evening, a little more than an hour ahead of tip for Game 6 between the Atlanta Hawks and Milwaukee Bucks, ESPN’s Malika Andrews and Adrian Wojnarowksi tweeted that Trae Young (foot) will play.
Hawks star Trae Young will play in Game 6 tonight vs. Milwaukee, sources tell @wojespn and me. Young missed the last two games with a bone bruise in his right foot.

The Hawks confirmed the report when they marked Young as available one hour before tip.
An @emoryhealthcare injury report for tonight’s game vs. Milwaukee:
— Atlanta Hawks (@ATLHawks) July 3, 2021
Trae Young (right foot bone bruise): Available
Bogdan Bogdanovic (right knee soreness): Available
Brandon Goodwin (minor respiratory condition): Out
De’Andre Hunter (right meniscus surgery): Out pic.twitter.com/jBUOzgdWxG
Young missed both Game 4 and Game 5 with a bone bruise in his foot that he suffered when accidentally stepping on the foot of an official in the third quarter of Game 3. Atlanta was able to win Game 4 in his absence behind stellar play from Lou Williams, Kevin Huerter and Bogdan Bogdanovic, but suffered a loss in Game 5 when Williams and Huerter struggled a bit.
Obviously getting anything close to 100% of Young will be big for the Hawks, as he has been the leading scorer and assist man on the team all season. It will be interesting to see how well the guard is moving out of the gates, but nonetheless he’s going to suit up and give it a go.
The Hawks face a must-win scenario in Game 6, as they trail the Bucks 3-2 in the series. Young will look to pick up where he left off in Game 3, when he had 35 points, 32 of which game in the first three quarters before the injury.
