The Atlanta Hawks open the preseason tomorrow evening in Miami in a matchup vs. Heat, and training camp is in full force as the regular season is now just over two weeks away. Ahead of the preseason, head coach Nate McMillan has began to shed a bit of light on his potential rotations.
One notable part of that equation is Cam Reddish, who obviously missed most of last season due to injury. Thursday, McMillan stated that the third-year forward will begin the season coming off the bench.
Nate McMillan said today Cam Reddish will be coming off the bench.

"We've just got to give him opportunity... We'll see what he can do once he gets out on the floor. The thing is to try to put him in position where he can be productive."
This comes as little surprise, as both Bogdan Bogdanovic and De’Andre Hunter are expected to be ready come opening night on Oct. 21. Bogdanovic seems ready to go now, as he participated in Saturday night’s open practice, which was essentially a low/no contract scrimmage hosted at State Farm Arena.
Hunter however did not participate, and neither did Clint Capela per Kevin Chouinard of Hawks.com.

The scrimmage was mostly a fun exercise to welcome Hawks fans back into the arena ahead of the upcoming season, but that didn’t stop rookie Jalen Johnson from showing off his hops to his new fans:

McMillan spoke about Johnson at shootaround Saturday morning ahead of the open practice, stating his versatility could span across three different positions.
Nate McMillan said he sees Jalen Johnson as a 4, but added this: "The skill that he's showing, I think you can look at him playing some 3, 4 and 5. I think he will have that ability."
