The Atlanta Hawks secured a hard-fought victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday night, and the match-up was interesting on a number of levels. For me, the most fascinating part of the game was a chess match, of sorts, that we saw between the two coaching staffs as they threw adjustments from an Xs and Os perspective at one another.
Atlanta has shown an affinity for running a certain pick-and-roll action late in games when they have the lead, and they went back to it in this game in an effort to close out the victory. This time, though, the Clippers were prepared.
From there, the adjustments — and the adjustments to those adjustments — made for some great basketball from a technical perspective.
In the video below, we break it all down.
Let’s hope we have an opportunity to see the Hawks seal a victory against the Nets on Wednesday evening. If so, we might see more of this offensive action from them.
