The numbers are in.

NBA 2K has released their annual copy of this year’s game, despite the lack of clarity on when we will see a new NBA season in real life.

Here are the initial ratings for the Atlanta Hawks — keep in mind, the pending free agents are still on all rosters because the 2019-20 season has not officially ended:

  • Trae Young (88 OVR)
  • John Collins (85 OVR)
  • Clint Capela (82 OVR)
  • Jeff Teague (78 OVR) — free agent
  • DeAndre Hunter (75 OVR)
  • Kevin Huerter (75 OVR)
  • Skal Labissiere (74 OVR) — free agent
  • Damian Jones (74 OVR) — free agent
  • Cam Reddish (73 OVR)
  • Bruno Fernando (73 OVR)
  • DeAndre’ Bembry (73 OVR) — free agent
  • Dewayne Dedmon (72 OVR)
  • Treveon Graham (71 OVR) — free agent
  • Brandon Goodwin (71 OVR)
  • Charlie Brown (70 OVR)

NBA 2K rated the Hawks as a “Tier 3” team heading into the offseason, while all of the team tier rankings are obviously tentative pending this Fall’s roster movement. Tier 3 is where the Hawks finished in NBA 2K20, so this is likely just a carry over from that.

Some interesting notes are that Young has a three-point rating of 90, while Collins’ dunk rating is 93. Huerter, Hunter and Reddish all saw slight drops in their ratings from a year ago. Having Huerter, Reddish, and Dedmon essentially in the same tier as Jones and Labissiere is interesting to say the least. It appears NBA 2K can be added to the list of folks who don’t watch anyone on the Hawks besides Young or Collins.

Young was (deservedly so) the highest mover for Atlanta, with his rating increasing from 84 to 88 since the release of last year’s game. However, despite Collins’ great finish to the season, he only went from 84 to 85.

These are only initial rankings that could be subject to change, but with Hawks games as much as six months away from returning, it could be a while before we see another adjustment. There will also obviously be a big update post-draft, so if you’re a 2K fanatic, look forward to that.
