Preview: Hawks aim for back-to-back wins against Knicks

The Atlanta Hawks needed to play 58 minutes of basketball to secure a win on Monday evening but, when compared to previous results, that was a favorable outcome for Lloyd Pierce’s team. On Wednesday, the Hawks will hope to avoid any effect of tired legs when the New York Knicks come to State Farm Arena for a match-up of lottery-bound squads.

The Hawks and Knicks split the first two match-ups this season, with Atlanta famously flopping in a 23-point loss in December, then returning the favor at home with a double-overtime win in February. On this occasion, New York will be on the second night of a back-to-back and, when coupled with home-court advantage for the Hawks, Atlanta is seemingly in an encouraging position.

In fact, the good folks in Las Vegas install the Hawks as 4.5-point favorites as of Wednesday morning, further illustrating that relative optimism. Though New York’s official injury report will not come to light on Wednesday afternoon, the Hawks project to be at near-full strength, with only Clint Capela, DeAndre’ Bembry and Skal Labissiere ruled out of action. John Collins (left ankle soreness) and Kevin Huerter (left groin soreness) are probable, with Treveon Graham (personal reasons) listed as questionable as of Wednesday morning.

Stay tuned throughout the day and be encouraged to utilize the comments below as a “game thread” for the action.
