The Atlanta Hawks opened NBA Summer League with a loss on Saturday but, after the official completion of trades involving De’Andre Hunter and Bruno Fernando, reinforcements are seemingly on the way. Though nothing official has come to light on Hunter and Fernando, all indications are that the pair of rookies will take the floor when the Hawks square off with the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday in Las Vegas.

Hunter and Fernando will then be formally introduced with a press conference at 8:30 pm ET (streamed live on Fox Sports Southeast) but, first, they must contend with the Wolves on the court. Alongside the incoming draftees, Omari Spellman will be prominently featured, with hope that Jaylen Adams and Charlie Brown can take the floor after missing the opener with minor injuries.

Finally, Tahjere McCall made quite a first impression in the opener and it will be interesting to see how he fares, in addition to other non-roster invitees like Matt Mooney, Jordan Sibert and Nick Ward.

Stay tuned throughout the day for all the latest from the game and the ensuing press conference. Also, be encouraged to use this space as a “game thread” for the action.
