Preview: Hawks complete road schedule in Milwaukee

One more away from home.

NBA: Milwaukee Bucks at Atlanta Hawks Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Update: Trae Young and John Collins are OUT for Sunday’s game.

Friday night didn’t go well for the Atlanta Hawks, with the team unable to generate defensive stops on the way to a (very) lopsided loss in Orlando. With that performance as the backdrop, the Hawks will travel to Milwaukee on Sunday evening for a quick rematch with the Bucks and, for good measure, the contest will serve as Atlanta’s final road game of the 2018-19 season.

Just one week ago, the Hawks upended the Bucks in memorable fashion at State Farm Arena, though it should be noted that it wasn’t exactly the “A” team on the floor for Milwaukee. In this case, Milwaukee’s available roster is unknown due to the Bucks facing the second night of a back-to-back (and an unlisted injury report) but it should be noted that Giannis Antetokounmpo did not appear on Saturday as a result of a calf injury. On the Hawks side, though, the roster will definitely be short-handed yet again.

In addition to rest-of-season absences for Dewayne Dedmon, Omari Spellman and others, Lloyd Pierce may be without Trae Young and/or John Collins for Sunday’s tilt. Both are listed as questionable for “load management” purposes and, in addition, Kevin Huerter has the same distinction as a result of mid-back pain.

From a point spread perspective, things are also unclear as a result of Milwaukee’s injuries. If Mike Budenholzer elects to deploy anything resembling a “regular” lineup, the Bucks will solid favorites in their home building. If he chooses to rest Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, Eric Bledsoe and others, things could tighten considerably.

Stay tuned throughout the day for all the latest, including updated information on the injury front.
