Preview: Hawks return home, face tall task against Milwaukee

Hello, State Farm Arena.

NBA: Milwaukee Bucks at Atlanta Hawks Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Update: The Atlanta Hawks have officially upgraded Jabari Parker and Evan Turner from questionable to probable for Wednesday’s game.

State Farm Arena has been dormant, at least from the perspective of the Atlanta Hawks, for 12 days but the team returns to action at home on Wednesday. The Milwaukee Bucks are in town for what is a tall task for the Hawks, as Giannis Antetokounmpo and company present myriad challenges as one of the best teams in the NBA.

As such, the Hawks are currently 11-point home underdogs in this game, even with the benefit of two full days off since their last game (a blowout loss to the Lakers) on Sunday evening. From an injury standpoint, Atlanta will still be without Kevin Huerter (in addition to John Collins) for this game, and there are a couple of questionable listings.

Jabari Parker (right shoulder pain) and Evan Turner (left Achilles pain) are uncertain to play, though it should be noted that Vince Carter is set to return after missing the full road trip for personal reasons. On the Milwaukee side, 2019 All-Star Khris Middleton remains sidelined and that is a slight demerit for the Bucks on the whole.

All told, this is an exceptionally difficult match-up for the Hawks and it will be interesting how they respond.

Stay tuned throughout the day and be encouraged to utilize the comments below as a “game thread” for the action.
