If you didn’t know, the Seattle Storm are playing the Washington Mystics in the 2018 WNBA Finals and the series is happening right now. And if you didn’t know that, you may not actually a die-hard basketball fan.

So to catch you all up, the Storm are leading the series 1-0, and the WNBA plays best out of 5. So don’t worry, there is still time to catch the end of the series (and become a fan).
It shouldn’t have to be said, but thank you @isaiahthomas https://t.co/lLars5VKNx

Now back to the headline and the reason you’re reading this.
Stewart’s Game 2 shoes
Breanna Stewart, the league’s MVP, is honoring the 2010 WNBA Champions with her shoes for Game 2. “Stewie” will be wearing a yellow and green colorway of the Nike KD 11. On the inside heel of the right shoe, it reads “2010 Champs,” with “Bird and Jackson” printed on the inside heel of the left.
Game 2 kicks!! S/o to @Kickstradomis for hooking me up and helping me honor @S10Bird & @laurenej15 and the last championship team that brought it all home in 2010! See you at Key tomorrow at 12:30PT! #GoStorm pic.twitter.com/TYiojE3tjf

The 2010 Storm went undefeated throughout the playoffs, before sweeping the Atlanta Dream in the finals. Lauren Jackson was both the Finals and League MVP that year. Sue Bird, who still is an integral part of the Storm’s offense, was notable player in that series as well.

Sue Bird’s customs
A sweet pair of customs for Sue Bird also surfaced earlier this week. Bird has been wearing the Nike Kyrie IV’s this season, but as of now, it is unclear whether or not Bird will wear these specific customs in a finals game.

My sis Sue Bird said she wanted something to break necks in finals with. Also said she wanted her @KyrieIrving to resemble her being the oldest woman in the league! Bam! pic.twitter.com/C0tXyQ4J0C
Bird’s customs picture the Looney Tunes Grandma, which represents her being the oldest woman in the leauge. Bird played on both of Seattle’s previous championship teams (‘04 and ‘10) and is among the all-time WNBA leaders in a ton of different statistical categories.
Breanna Stewart and Sue Bird’s customs were both done by Kickstradomis. Kickstradomis is an NBA favorite when it comes to shoe customs, with players like Karl-Anthony Towns and Donovan Mitchell wearing his customs regularly.
Game 2 of the WNBA Finals airs at 3:30 pm ET on Sunday (Sept. 9) and the game can be found nationally on ABC.
