Per a report from ESPN’s Ian Begley, the Hawks will sign Jeremy Evans to a 10-day contract:
The Atlanta Hawks are signing Jeremy Evans to a 10-day contract, league sources told ESPN.

Evans was with the Hawks in training camp but was cut before the season started in the Hawks’ roster crunch coming out of preseason. Evans hasn’t been in the NBA since 2015-16 with the Dallas Mavericks but has played with the Erie Bayhawks, Atlanta’s G League affiliate, this season. He played overseas last season with Khimki in Russia.
Evans is known for his athleticism which earned him quite a bit of playing time in his five years in Utah earlier in his career. Now on the wrong side of 30 and a career 23.1 percent three-point shooter in the NBA, Evans was slightly more successful at the G League level but not enough to warrant being labeled a shooter.
Evans is perhaps best known for taking Ronny Turiaf’s soul out of his body in 2012:
Evans will sign a 10-day contract, but it’s unclear whether that means he’s the 16th rostered player for the Hawks (signed via a hardship exception) or if he replaces Damion Lee, whose second 10-day contract will be coming to an end soon. Stay tuned.
