Preview: Hawks travel to Sacramento in search of back-to-back wins

Can Atlanta emerge with another victory?

NBA: Sacramento Kings at Atlanta Hawks Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Much has changed since the Atlanta Hawks and the Sacramento Kings faced off earlier in the 2017-2018 NBA season but, in that last meeting, nothing went well for the team from the Western Conference. Atlanta drubbed Sacramento to the tune of a 126-80 final score on Nov. 15 and, while that isn’t particularly instructive of what will take place on Thursday in the Golden 1 Center, it is certainly something to keep in mind.

In addition, the Hawks are coming off an impressive road victory in Salt Lake City and the team will look to make it two in a row in this spot. From a perspective of ping-pong balls, this will be an intriguing battle but, as evidenced by what took place on Tuesday, Atlanta has no interest in simply fading into the night from an effort perspective and that is important to note.

Injury-wise, the Hawks will be short-handed once again, with six players on the shelf for this particular contest. The injury report is headlined by John Collins, who will miss his second consecutive game with an ankle ailment, and he is joined by Kent Bazemore, Malcolm Delaney, DeAndre’ Bembry, Jaylen Morris and Antonius Cleveland.

The good folks in Las Vegas install the Kings as small, two-point favorites in this game, illustrating the toss-up nature of what fans will be witnessing in this spot. A lot of folks will undoubtedly be focused on the NCAA Tournament (at least in part) but, for the night owls, there is NBA basketball to monitor in Sacramento and you can join us throughout the day.

Stay tuned.
