Preview: Hawks kick off road journey in Milwaukee

The first of six away from home.

NBA: Atlanta Hawks at Milwaukee Bucks Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Hawks have dropped five games in a row and, on Thursday night, positive takeaways were few and far between on the heels of a lopsided home loss. Unfortunately, though, nothing becomes easier for the Hawks in the near future, as the team kicks off a six-game road trip on Saturday in Wisconsin against the Milwaukee Bucks.

When dealing with the Bucks, everything is viewed through the prism of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Atlanta’s challenge in containing the All-NBA forward is obvious. Elsewhere, though, the Hawks have health issues galore (including with Taurean Prince, who is listed as probable with right peroneal nerve irritation) and the roster invading Milwaukee in this spot is depleted to say the least.

At the moment, the Hawks are seen by the good folks in Las Vegas as double-figure underdogs in this spot and, frankly, it is tough to blame them. Atlanta is certainly capable of competing, or even winning, with an A-plus effort but it will take a big-time performance (combined with some help from the Bucks) to make that happen.

Stay tuned throughout the evening for all the latest.
