Bazemore exits early with right knee sprain

The injuries continue to pile up for the Hawks.

Kent Bazemore was forced to leave Atlanta’s game against the Chicago Bulls on Sunday with what the team is calling a right knee sprain.

Bazemore injured his knee after an awkward landing while trying to make a pass. He immediately limped his way off the floor to the locker room with the game still going on.

This came just minutes after Hawks 10-day player Jaylen Morris injured his ankle while playing defense. Morris had to be helped off the floor and was taken straight back to the locker room for further evaluation.

Bazemore has by far been the Hawks most dependable player this season, averaging 13 points, four rebounds and three assists per game while also being Atlanta’s best perimeter defender.

Morris recently signed his second 10-day contract with Atlanta and had shown promise as a defensive stopper on a team where defense has been hard to come by this season. Morris has averaged 5 points and 3 rebounds in 19 minutes per game since joining the Hawks from the Erie Bayhawks.

Stay tuned to Peachtree Hoops for updates on both Bazemore and Morris’ statuses going forward.
