Veteran swingman Marco Belinelli was held out of action on Tuesday evening as the Atlanta Hawks discuss various trade options with teams around the NBA. With more than 24 hours until the deadline, though, no firm deal was in place for Belinelli, leaving plenty of room for speculation as to where the marksman may land.
To that end, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reported that the Miami Heat are among the interested parties.

Belinelli is certainly a flawed player and his defensive issues have to be noted. However, the Heat rank as the No. 25 offense in the NBA on a per-possession basis and, in the absence of Dion Waiters and others, Miami has struggled to create (and convert) efficient looks.
That recipe, coupled with a reasonable defensive infrastructure, could present a landing spot for Belinelli, who is still a top-tier shooter. Previous to this report, Belinelli was linked to the Philadelphia 76ers and, beyond that, there are many teams that could theoretically use his offensive punch in a reserve role.
Stay tuned.
