With just over an hour prior to tip-off on Sunday afternoon, the Atlanta Hawks have announced that forward Ersan Ilyasova will miss today’s matchup against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden due to an illness.
Ilyasova did not travel with the team and Dewayne Dedmon will start in his place, according to Michael Cunningham of the AJC.

If you made a bet at the beginning of the season that Dewayne Dedmon and Miles Plumlee would start an NBA game together, congratulations...
A very interesting lineup to begin this game to say the very least, but one that might do a sufficient job countering a giant front-court in Kristaps Porzingis and Enes Kanter to begin the game.
For the season, Ilyasova is averaging 10.8 points per game on 45.7% shooting from the field, 35.5% from three and 5.5 rebounds per game.
Elsewhere, Tyler Cavanaugh has also been ruled out of Sunday’s game. The rookie big man was recalled from the Hawks’ G-League affiliate Erie Bayhawks earlier in the day after suffering an ankle injury against the Raptors 905 on Saturday night.
