Per a report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Atlanta Hawks are closing in on Jaylen Morris, who has played this season for their G League affiliate, the Erie Bayhawks:
Atlanta is signing Jaylen Morris of Erie G League affiliate to a 10-day contract on Wednesday, league sources tell ESPN. Morris comes out of Division II Molloy College of the ECC.

Morris, a 6-foot-5 wing out of Molloy College, went undrafted last year and was later selected by Erie in the G League draft. He’ll sign a 10-day contract, which will give him just a few games to prove his worth at the NBA level. An explosive scorer in transition and on cuts, Morris has made his name in the G League as an low-usage, high-efficiency wing who doesn’t quite have a three-point shot but can get to the basket and finish inside. He’s started every game for Erie this season and boasts some very strong defensive numbers in addition to his offensive efficiency.
Unlike fellow 10-day signing Antonius Cleveland, the Hawks will actually get a good look at Morris over the next week and a half and can either sign him to another 10-day or a rest-of-season contract at that point. DeAndre’ Bembry’s recent injury should give Morris and 2-way wing Andrew White a few more minutes over Atlanta’s next few games.
