On Friday afternoon, the Atlanta Hawks announced that Taurean Prince will join teammate John Collins on the USA team in the NBA’s Rising Stars game, which takes place on Friday night of All-Star Weekend.
It was reported earlier Friday that Brogdon will miss up to eight weeks with a quad injury, opening up the opportunity for Prince to step in as the replacement. Prince impressed in his rookie season last year, eventually stepping into a starting role with the team in the playoffs. This season, he’s started every game and is shooting 39 percent from beyond the three-point line. Nearly every basic and advanced statistic is up for Prince this season as he’s stepped into a larger role this season for the Hawks.
The Rising Stars game matches ten American rookies and sophomores against a team of ten NBA players from around the world. Prince and Collins will be the only participants in All-Star Weekend for Atlanta.
