Earlier this month, the NBA’s City Edition Uniforms were released. While some teams kept their 2017-18 edition, other teams developed entire new concepts.
The Atlanta Hawks were among teams who updated their uniforms, and rolled out a special edition to celebrate their 50th anniversary.

Although the inspiration for this uniform was spot on, the end product is not necessarily something to celebrate. The side-paneling was meant to give a wing (bird) like feel, but with the colors chosen it embodies more of a zebra. In addition, the gold lining on top of the white makes the jersey look dingy and sweaty.
So what would we have liked to see? Something more hawk-like and less sweat-like. With the same color scheme and side-panel designs, we could add countershading (like real hawks). These uniforms would have gold back-paneling, a gold to white to gold gradient on the front, and black lettering.
