An interesting challenge on a snowy Wednesday.

The Atlanta Hawks put together an impressive performance on MLK Day, outlasting the San Antonio Spurs to pick up a victory. After a day off on Tuesday, the Hawks will face another challenge within the friendly confines of Philips Arena, as the New Orleans Pelicans arrive.

The Pelicans enter on the second night of a back-to-back and the team needed overtime to complete its task on Tuesday. Beyond that, weather concerns in Atlanta likely made for a treacherous trip for the visitors, providing even more optimism that a rested Hawks team could take advantage.

However, the recent play of Anthony Davis doesn’t exactly bring a ton of positivity to the table, as he has been utterly tremendous. Over the past three games (all New Orleans victories), Davis is averaging 43.0 points, 14.0 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per contest and, with Boogie Cousins also in the mix, Wednesday will bring a real test for Atlanta’s frontcourt.

Despite the unfavorable circumstances for the visitors, the Pelicans are 2-point favorites according to the good folks in Las Vegas. Stay tuned throughout the afternoon and evening for all the latest.
