The preseason schedule for the Atlanta Hawks is coming together. After word broke that the Hawks would be traveling to Miami to take on the Heat on Oct. 1, the Memphis Grizzlies announced their full preseason slate on Tuesday. That schedule includes a trip to Atlanta for a match-up against Mike Budenholzer’s team on Oct. 9.
The team’s official release cites a 7:30 pm ET tip-off time (6:30 pm CT) for the contest and, while it is in Atlanta, the specific location for the contest is listed as “TBD” based on the Philips Arena renovations. This comes as no surprise given the quick nature of the turnaround of the venue and, after all, the complete renovation won’t be completed until the 2018-2019 season.
Still, this is an opportunity (perhaps even the first one, depending on the full schedule) to see the Hawks in Atlanta before the 2017-2018 regular season begins. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
