The start of the NBA regular season is more than 10 weeks away but the preseason begins in less than two months. Now, a report has emerged that the schedule for the Atlanta Hawks will include a game against the Miami Heat that will also serve as Miami’s preseason opener on Oct. 1.
Heat preseason schedule (all Oct.):
— Tim Reynolds (@ByTimReynolds) August 3, 2017
1- ATL, 6
5- at BKN, 7:30
7- at ORL, 7
9- CHA, 7:30
11- WSH, 7:30
13- vs PHI in Kansas City, 8:30
At this point, the Hawks have not released their own preseason schedule but, given the early date, this could serve as Atlanta’s opener as well. Keep in mind, though, that the Oct. 1 game will reportedly take place in Miami, leaving Hawks fans (and season ticket holders) in wait when it comes to planning their first trip to newly-renovated Philips Arena.
Stay tuned in the future for further details on the preseason and, eventually, regular season schedules. For now, though, we can look forward to at least one exhibition contest and, in theory, a first professional glance at rookie John Collins.
