A large segment of the NBA world looks forward to the release of NBA 2K ratings each and every summer. While not every player has been evaluated (at least publicly) at this point for NBA 2K18, the rating for Atlanta Hawks rookie big man John Collins is now available.
In fact, it was Collins that revealed his rating of 73.

For the uninitiated, this is not an off-the-charts endorsement of Collins but, from a standpoint of a mid-to-late first round pick, it is relatively normal. Other rookies like Lonzo Ball (80), Markelle Fultz (80) and Dennis Smith Jr. (76) are rated higher than Collins but Atlanta’s new building block does surpass Kyle Kuzma (72) and Bam Adebayo (72) among posted rookies.
Collins’ actual role on the 2017-2018 Hawks may be uncertain but he is certainly a big part of the future in Atlanta. Now, he’ll have the opportunity to outplay this rating and see how much it could climb in 2018-2019 if he accomplishes that feat.
