Kyrie Irving reportedly wants to be traded from the Cleveland Cavaliers, in part due to a desire to be the center of his own squad and be apart from LeBron James. While that is certainly an interesting and perhaps misplaced goal, many fans of the Atlanta Hawks have jumped to the trade machine in an effort to construct the perfect scenario that would bring Irving to Georgia.
To that end, the good folks at Bovada.lv released offshore betting odds on which NBA roster Irving would be on when the season opener arrives and the Hawks were listed! Okay, Atlanta is the team with the longest (er, worst) odds of any squad that made cut but that won’t stop the dreams of the fan base to lure a “superstar” player to the Hawks.
The Hawks do have a ton of draft ammunition to make a big-time offer for a player of Irving’s stature and age but, in the same breath, Cleveland’s apparent desire to continue building around LeBron James would make a partnership quite difficult. Still, if you want to place your hard-earned jelly beans on the line, you can do so with the following odds.
Cleveland Cavaliers 1/1
New York Knicks 3/1
Phoenix Suns 5/1
Boston Celtics 7/1
Denver Nuggets 9/1
Minnesota Timberwolves 12/1
San Antonio Spurs 14/1
Miami Heat 20/1
Milwaukee Bucks 25/1
Atlanta Hawks 33/1
