Brussino was waived by the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday after spending the 2016-17 season with the club.
Brussino, who is 24 years old, is a 6’8” perimeter player, who is listed as a shooting guard/small forward. In his one NBA season, Brussino averaged 2.8 points per game and 1.7 rebounds per game in nine minutes of action a night in 54 games for the Mavericks, starting twice.
Brussino was also involved with the Mavericks at NBA Summer League, averaging 8.8 points per game on 41% shooting from the field and 4.7 rebounds in 20 minutes per game in six games. While he is not a significant name in the grand scheme, Brussino fits Atlanta’s development curve from an age perspective and he could be an interesting Hawks University candidate.
