According to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical, Mike Budenholzer has had talks with the Hawks’ ownership group about reducing his role to solely being the head coach of the team, rather than his current dual role as coach and president.
This comes on the heels of an earlier report that Wes Wilcox had been let go and the subsequent statement from the Hawks that discussions were ongoing but that there was no movement to report. Wojnarowski has also reported that ownership is in talks with Wilcox about his future with the team and an announcement could be made today.
Stay tuned, folks. There’s rarely this much leaked out the Hawks organization, so where there’s smoke, there’s probably fire.
