The NBA Draft Lottery has come and gone and the order is set. Individual workouts are starting to ramp up around the league as are projections on what the first round of the NBA Draft might look like.
SB Nation’s Ricky O’Donnell released an updated first-round mock draft late Tuesday after the lottery and projects Texas Center Jarrett Allen to the Atlanta Hawks with the 19th pick of the first round.
Allen didn’t get much publicity playing for a Texas team that was one of the country’s biggest underachievers, but anyone who saw him on the recruiting trail knows how talented he is. Allen combines quick feet with a 7’5 wingspan that makes him a fascinating long-term gamble in the front court.
Allen is an interesting target. A young athletic and mobile center who looks like he could develop into a solid defender as well as an all around offensive performer. DraftExpress ranks him currently as their 17th best player in their Top 100 prospects.
