The Atlanta Hawks announced on Saturday that they have claimed point guard Jose Calderon off of waivers. Calderon began the season with the Los Angeles Lakers before receiving a buyout. He then signed on with the Golden State Warriors but was immediately waived so that they could sign Matt Barnes in wake of Kevin Durant’s injury.
"We feel fortunate to be able to add a player of Jose's caliber at this point in the season,” Budenholzer said. “His unselfish nature and ability to shoot with range fits our style of play and his experience will add to our locker room."
Calderon is in his 12th season and has appeared in 772 career games while averaging 9.7 points, 6.3 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game. He is a 47 percent shooter for his career including 41 percent from three-point range.
