The Hawks have lost six-straight games and are sliding in the Eastern Conference standings. Atlanta enters Sunday’s game tied with the Milwaukee Bucks for fifth place in the standings with a 37-35 record. The Hawks own the tiebreaker with the Bucks having won three of the four meetings this season. Atlanta is just one game ahead of seventh place Indiana and two up on eighth place Miami.
The Hawks will be without forward Paul Millsap and guard Kent Bazemore for Sunday’s game due to knee injuries. Millsap has missed four straight games with tightness in his left knee. Bazemore suffered a bone bruise to his right knee in a loss to the Portland Trail Blazers last Saturday. He has missed three-straight games and will likely be reevaluated at some point next week.
Atlanta dropped its sixth straight game Friday night in Milwaukee with a 100-97 loss. The Hawks are now 0-7 in games in which Millsap does not play. Dennis Schröder led the way with 28 points against the Bucks while Tim Hardaway Jr. added 25 in the loss.
Brooklyn has played much better of late going 7-8 during the month of March but enter Sunday’s game with a 15-57 record. The Nets are just 5-30 on the road this season including a 129-108 loss in Washington on Friday that snapped a two-game winning streak.
