Sweet Sixteen Uniform Bracket

After the first weekend of the Men’s NCAA Basketball Tournament, I conducted a series of Twitter polls to figure out which teams in the Sweet Sixteen have the best uniforms. For the most part, the votes were pretty even. Regardless, I was able to generate the following winners for each region.

EAST REGION

Wisconsin vs. Florida

Wisconsin’s uniforms are outfitted by Under Armour, while Florida’s are made by Nike. Wisconsin wins this close game, because nobody actually likes the color orange.

Baylor vs. South Carolina

For some reason, Baylor won this pairing on Twitter. I’m not sure if it’s because they’re easy to spot, or if Duke fans were still pouting over their loss to South Carolina.

EAST REGION WINNER: Wisconsin. There was no way Baylor was going to win twice with those eye-burning, made-for-radio, neon jerseys.

WEST REGION

Gonzaga vs. West Virginia

In the Twitter poll, Gonzaga barely beat West Virginia. But, March is all about the upsets so West Virginia actually gets the ‘W’ here. And lets be real, Przemek Karnowski would rather be a Mountaineer anyway.

Arizona vs. Xavier

The winner of this match up is Xavier, who won in the polls with the second highest margin (76%). Both uniforms were made by Nike, however, Arizona’s are significantly lighter and uglier. Arizona’s tops look like cutoff wrestling singlets.

WEST REGION WINNER: All of the teams in this region were outfitted by Nike, so the upper-hand goes to Xavier who got a little bump from killing Arizona in the first round. Plus, black is just too sharp.

MIDWEST REGION

Kansas vs. Purdue

The Kansas Jayhawks easily beat Purdue with their patriotic colors, because we all know the real ‘American Dream’ is to fill out a perfect bracket.

Michigan vs. Oregon

From my polling, this pairing is the closest match up in the Sweet Sixteen. But, Oregon comes out on top for two reasons. First, the wings on their shorts totally embodies a duck, and second, because D.J. Wilson (5) wears his shorts way too short.

MIDWEST REGION WINNER: Although Oregon always has Nike’s latest stuff, the winner of the Midwest is Kansas. Everyone was annoyed with Oregon’s fresh gear and their relationsh and this negativity put Kansas over the edge. making them the only Adidas sponsored team in the final four. Everyone is annoyed at how Oregon players get so much sweet gear.

SOUTH REGION

North Carolina vs. Butler

North Carolina won this match up, and won it by the largest margin out of all the polls (79% to 21%). Being the alma mater of Michael Jordan, North Carolina is outfitted by Jordan. Butler’s uniforms are made by Nike.

UCLA vs. Kentucky

This pairing was extremely close. In basketball terms, this game went into triple overtime. In the end, Kentucky’s checkered side panels put UCLA in checkmate.

Winner: North Carolina wins this region with their traditional uniforms and background with His Airness.
