The Hawks will be without their best player on Saturday.

With less than one hour until tip-off on Saturday evening, the Atlanta Hawks looked to be at full strength against the Portland Trail Blazers. However, word broke just before the action got underway that All-Star power forward Paul Millsap would miss the contest as a result of left knee tightness.

Millsap is, of course, the team’s best player and he has not missed a game since early December. At the moment, there isn’t a ton of information as to the seriousness of the ailment but Millsap was not listed on the published injury report in advance of the game and that could speak to something of a minor issue.

Still, it is never a good thing to be without a player of the caliber of Millsap, even for one night and the Hawks will have their hands full against Portland as a result. Stay tuned as more information becomes available.
