Taurean Prince’s stay in the D-League was short lived. Prince scored 16 points in 22 minutes Friday night for the Long Island Nets but will be back with the Hawks in time for Saturday’s matchup against the Orlando Magic after he was recalled on Saturday.
The original plan was for Prince to spend both Friday and Saturday with the Long Island Nets but injury concerns at the wing position necessitated his return.
Atlanta issued an updated injury report Saturday afternoon listing Mike Dunleavy as probable with a sore knee and Thabo Sefolosha as questionable with a groin injury. Dunleavy fell awkwardly and tweaked his knee in Thursday’s win at Houston. It sounds like he is on course to be available to play but Mike Budenholzer and his staff may want an extra body on the bench just in case the knee gives him trouble at some point in Saturday’s game.
Sefolosha has missed the last three games with a groin injury. His status will likely be updated a little closer to game time.
If Sefolosha is unable to play, DeAndre Bembry will likely see minutes once again at the wing position. Bembry played an important part in Thursday’s win over the Rockets defensively and has been impressive in the limited opportunities he has had for playing time.
