Budenholzer is looking to get his best defenders on the court while looking for a spark for his team that has suddenly lost three straight. Hardaway is averaging over 17 points per game this season as the starter but has been a bit more efficient in a bench role. Budenholzer is clearly looking for his team to set the tone early defensively which has not been the case in recent games.
No immediate plans to fill roster spot
The Hawks unexpectedly opened up a roster spot on Sunday when they requested waivers on Lamar Patterson so that he could attend to a personal matter. Budenholzer told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Chris Vivlamore on Monday that the team has no immediate plans for filling that spot and they would wait a few days to monitor the situation.
Bud says no immediate plans to fill roster spot. Will take a few days (or longer) to monitor.
