The Atlanta Hawks bounced back with an entertaining home win over the Orlando Magic on Saturday evening but there is no time for rest. Less than 24 hours later, the team will take the floor again and the New York Knicks will be the opponent.
This time, the Hawks are on the road and, while both teams must travel after Saturday night contests, New York will have the advantage of a home venue. The Knicks have scuffled considerably after a hot start to the season and that includes a loss to Atlanta on a road trip earlier in the campaign. In addition, New York will be without old friend Tim Hardaway Jr. in this match-up, as he is battling a left leg injury.
While this could be construed as a “schedule loss” opportunity for both teams, the Hawks played quite well at times against Orlando and that provides some positive thinking as this game approaches. The Knicks do have the best player on the floor in Kristaps Porzingis, though, and he will be facing an Atlanta frontcourt that isn’t necessarily equipped with a ton of pure size to combat him.
Stay tuned throughout the afternoon and evening for all the festivities and we will see if the Hawks can emerge with back-to-back victories and a weekend sweep.
