Update: Mike Budenholzer indicated before Sunday’s game that Ilyasova will miss “a few days” or “a few games” with his knee issues. Later, the Hawks announced that the veteran underwent an MRI at Emory Orthopaedics & Spine Clinic yesterday, which revealed a bone bruise and Ilyasova is expected to be out 1-2 weeks.
Ersan Ilyasova has several former teams and one of them arrives as the opponent for the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday afternoon at Philips Arena. Unfortunately, Ilyasova will not be available to play in the game, as he has been officially ruled out due to knee concerns.

The Hawks published an injury report on Saturday evening that also included Dennis Schröder (ankle) and Marco Belinelli (Achilles) with “probable” distinctions and that indicates they are likely to play. Ilyasova joins DeAndre Bembry and Miles Plumlee with an “out” distinction, leaving Atlanta more short-handed in this spot.
Ilyasova has struggled in the early going, shooting 28 percent from the floor and 14 percent from three through four appearances. The veteran was also absent from the proceedings in Atlanta’s loss to Chicago on Thursday and it will be interesting to see how he is treated moving forward with the Hawks facing two off days on Monday and Tuesday.
Stay tuned.
