We are still a little over a month from the trade deadline but the Atlanta Hawks are reportedly not wasting any time in gauging the value of some of their veteran players. ESPN.com’s Marc Stein and Brian Windhorst report that Atlanta is listening to offers for Paul Millsap and veteran wings Kyle Korver and Thabo Sefolosha.
Sources told ESPN.com that the Hawks, fearful of losing Millsap in free agency in the summer without compensation, are not openly shopping him but taking calls on the 31-year-old and their other pending free agents, notably sharpshooter Kyle Korver and swingman Thabo Sefolosha.
Per the report, the Hawks were stung last summer when they effectively lost Al Horford to the Boston Celtics while getting nothing in return. In an effort to not suffer the same fate this summer, the Hawks have reportedly begun taking stock on their veteran free agents.
At this point, there is no word yet on what teams might be interested. Atlanta had advanced discussions with the Denver Nuggets this summer in regards to Millsap and the Toronto Raptors would be a logical fit as well.
