For those fans looking to plan a trip (or several) to Philips Arena during the 2016-2017 season, the NBA schedule release is like Christmas morning. On Thursday evening, the league provided the gift for every Atlanta Hawks to unwrap, as the full, 82-game slate was unveiled.
First on the docket for the Hawks will be a home game against the Washington Wizards, as Atlanta opens the schedule at Philips Arena for the second straight season. Elsewhere, the city of Atlanta will not be hosting a game on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, as the Hawks will instead face off against the New York Knicks at 1:00 pm ET.
In other news, Mike Budenholzer’s team will take the floor in 16 nationally televised (8 on NBATV) games, though the team will (once again) be at home during the NBA’s famed Christmas Day slate. In other news, Al Horford’s return to Philips Arena as a member of the Boston Celtics will take place on Friday, Jan. 13 at 8:00 pm ET.
