Dennis Schröder was expected to lead Team Germany later this summer in the Eurobasket qualifying round but it now appears that won’t be happening.
Sportando reports that Schröder will skip the tournament to focus on his new role as the starting point guard for the Atlanta Hawks. The move was announced by the Team Germany’s official Twitter account.

Another factor that could have played into the decision is Schröder’s contract status. He is in line to be a restricted free agent at the end of next season and the Hawks had previously expressed interest in working out an extension.
