The Atlanta Dream jumped out to a big lead and was able to hold on at the end for a 67-63 win over the Connecticut Sun to extend their winning streak to three straight.

Angel McCoughtry had another huge day for the Dream scoring a game-high 26 points to go along with six rebounds, three steals and three blocked shots. Sancho Lyttle logged her third straight double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds.

"We knew it was going to be a tough game but we just had to stick to it," Dream head coach Michael Cooper said following the game.

"I like the way we started. We came out and got on them, sometimes that can help you a lot because down the back stretch, in the third and fourth quarter, they made their run and it seemed like we had just a little bit more."

The Dream came out of the gates hitting on all cylinders and led by as many as 15 points in the first half. A cold shooting third quarter allowed Connecticut to get back into the game. Atlanta scored just 10 points in the third and shot just 25 percent from the field as the Sun cut the deficit to 53-48 heading to the fourth.

Chiney Ogwumike put Connecticut in front 59-58 with 5:35 remaining but the Dream never lost their composure. McCoughtry put the Dream up 64-61 with a three-pointer with just over two minutes remaining. Lyttle put Atlanta back up three with a jumper of her own with just over 20 seconds remaining. Alex Bentley missed a game-tying attempt and Tiffany Hayes sealed the game at the free throw line.

Alyssa Thomas led the Sun with 19 points while Ogwumike added 11. Connecticut shot 41 percent from the field but were just 1 for 19 from three-point range.

The Dream will continue their three-game road trip on Wednesday with a stop in New York to take on the Liberty.
