The Hawks have been rumored to be in on Howard for several days now and were reportedly looking to pair him alongside Al Horford whom they also hope to retain. On the surface, that seems like an odd fit with Paul Millsap still on the roster but there could be more moving parts in all of this that haven’t yet become clear. Horford has drawn a lot of interest on the open market and Howard would provide them some cover if he were to bolt to another team.
Howard was reportedly set to meet with four teams on Friday in Atlanta before shifting his meetings to Las Vegas. The Hawks and the Celtics were reportedly two of the teams with face to face meetings scheduled.
