The Atlanta Dream return to action Friday night as they look to extend their winning streak to five straight when they face the Connecticut Sun. A victory would equal the 2010 squad for the second best start in franchise history. That team started the year 6-1 and the 2013 team began the year with a 10-1 stretch.
The Dream avenged their only loss of the season this past Sunday when they scored an 85-76 win over the Indiana Fever at Philips Arena. Angel McCoughtry led the way with 22 points while Layshia Clarendon added 17.
While Clarendon and Tiffany Hayes have provided offensive support for McCoughtry, the Dream's defensive improvement is the source of their good start. Atlanta enters Friday's game fourth in defensive rating at 96.4.
Connecticut comes into the game on the opposite end of the spectrum. The Sun have lost four straight and are just 1-5 and looking to avoid a franchise worst start. Points have been hard to come by for Connecticut who are averaging a league-worst 68.8 per game.
