Cotton, who stands at 6-foot-1 and 165 pounds, was most recently seen with the Austin Toros in the D-League. The former Providence star also appeared in eight combined NBA games during the 2015-2016 season with the Phoenix Suns and the Memphis Grizzlies.
The chief appeal with Cotton comes with his shooting, where he is a career 44.9% three-point shooter at the D-League level with a 48.4% clip from long range this season. Atlanta’s perimeter shooting has come under fire in recent years, but with both Cotton and former Gonzaga guard Kevin Pangos, the Hawks are taking a look at some knock-down shooters from distance in Las Vegas.
The final roster will likely surface closer to the start of the LVSL on Friday, July 8. Stay tuned.
