Atlanta Hawks assistant coach Taylor Jenkins will be the head coach of the team’s entry at the Samsung Summer League beginning July 8 in Las Vegas, according to a report by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Chris Vivlamore.
Jenkins has been on the staff in Atlanta for three seasons, and prior to that, he served as the head coach of the Austin Toros in the D-League.
Vivlamore also reports that second-year players Lamar Patterson and Walter Tavares will participate in Summer League. First round picks Taurean Prince and DeAndre Bembrey are expected to play as well, and second round pick Isaia Cordinier is also a possibility.
The rest of Atlanta’s summer league roster is starting to trickle out. Vivlamore reported earlier this week that former Michigan State forward Matt Costello would go to summer league with Atlanta. Basketball Insiders writer Alex Kennedy also reports that 28-year old swingman Darington Hobson will also suit up for the Hawks.
