The Atlanta Hawks reportedly took a closer look at Maryland big man Diamond Stone earlier in the week, and on Thursday, it appears the team will be entertaining Syracuse swingman Malachi Richardson for an NBA Draft workout.

Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer brings word of the workout (within context of the Sixers and potential interest in Richardson) and this makes some sense. The 20-year-old swingman produced a breakout performance in the NCAA Tournament, and while pundits are divided on his ultimate ceiling, many feel as if Richardson would be a legitimate target in the back half of the first round in 2016.
Still, Richardson has many flaws, including more turnovers than assists during his brief college career (yikes) and it would certainly be a risk for Atlanta to invest heavily in his services. At least one prominent mock draft has married the Hawks and Richardson, though, leaving the door open for fireworks on June 23.
Stay tuned as more prospect updates and workouts take place.
